National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) (erstwhile DOEACC Society) is an organization with Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY), Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Govt. of India, engaged in human resource development and related activities like skill development, capacity building, project execution in the areas of Information Technolog y, Electronics, ESDM, e-Governance, cyber crime etc. It is engaged in formal and non-formal education in the above areas beside project execution. It is also one of the National execution bodies, which accredits institutions / organizations forconducting courses in IT and Electronics in non-formal sector.
NIELIT is growing at a fast speed and has Centres in 30 locations i.e. Agartala, Aizawl, Ajmer, Aurangabad, Calicut, Chandigarh, Chennai, Chuchuyimlang, Churachandpur, Delhi, Gangtok, Gorakhpur, Guwahati, Itanagar, Patna, Srinagar, Imphal, Jammu, Jorhat, Kohima, Kolkata, Leh, Lucknow, Lunglei, Tezpur, Ranchi Senapati, Shillong, Shimla and Silchar with the Headquarters at Delhi; and is also coming up with new Centres in Ropar, Srikakulam and other cities.
NIELIT is looking for qualified, experienced and dynamic personnel for various positions for its different Centres/extension Centres spread all over the country.
The positions are identified for NIELIT Centres / Extension Centres at Ajmer (Rajasthan), Chennai (Tamilnadu), Patna (Bihar), Aizawl & Lunglei (Mizoram), Imphal,Churachandpur, Senapati (Manipur), Guwahati, Tezpur, Dibrugarh, Silchar, Jorhat & Kokrajhar (Assam), Shillong & Tura (Meghalaya), Itanagar, Tezu & Pasighat (Arunachal Pradesh) Gangtok (Sikkim) and Chuchuyamlang (Nagaland). However, the incumbent may be posted anywhere in India as per the requirement.
Applications are invited from eligible and qualified Indian Citizens for the positions listed below in NIELIT. The persons shall be deployed as per the requirement of the Centre/Extension Centres. To select the suitable candidates for all the positions, written exam followed by personal interviews will be conducted at
Headquarters/Centres depending upon the application received or as decided by NIELIT.
The manpower will be engaged purely on temporary and contract basis for a specific period (i.e. initially for 2 years) on consolidated emoluments and shall not claim for regularization against this advertisement/selection. The period of engagement may increase/decrease depending upon the requirement and it shall be sole discretion /decision of NIELIT. The above vacancies are tentative and may increase or decrease, depending upon requirement as on date of recruitment. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/ PWD candidates shall be as per the Govt. guidelines.

1. CITIZENSHIP: A Candidate must be either: (a) a citizen of India, or (b) a subject of Nepal, or (c) a subject of Bhutan, or (d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. NOTE: The application of a candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary, may be considered by the Commission and, if recommended for appointment, the candidate may also be provisionally appointed subject to the necessary certificate being issued in his favour by the Government of India .
2. The application fees of Rs. 500/- shall be charged for general and all others candidates and Rs.250/- for SC/ST/PWD/Women candidates.
3. The fee will be collected through online payment mode via application software only. Any processing charges towards the same plus service tax, if any, will have to be borne by the candidate. Fee through any other mode like Demand Draft, Pay Order, Cheque or Challan will not be accepted.
4. Choice of Examination locations: (1) Aizawl (2) Ajmer (3) Chennai (4) Delhi (5) Gangtok (6) Guwahati (7) Imphal (8) Itanagar (9) Patna (10) Shillong (Candidates should indicate their choice for Centre from the above mentioned cities for written examination in the appropriate column of the online Application form. No change of Centre will be permissible at a later date. NIELIT, for administrative reasons, however, reserves the right to direct the candidate to appear for Written Test at any location other than the one chosen by the candidate).
5. Application fee once paid is non-refundable. Applicants, in their own interest, should check their eligibility for specific post before remitting the application fee.
6. Applicants applying for more than one post should submit separate applications and remit the application fee for each post separately.
7. Final selection of candidates for appointment to the above mentioned positions will be based on the performance of the candidates in the written examination, skill test (wherever applicable) and in interview and found eligible as per prescribed criteria.
- The written examination shall be OMR based.
- Written examination will comprise of objective type questions. The Question Paper for Positions at Sl. Nos. 1 to 5 above, will consist of 85 (50 Technical and 35 General Aptitude); while for remaining positions the Question Paper shall consist of 85 Questions in General Knowledge and Aptitude.
- Every question will carry 1 mark and there will be negative marking of 0.25 of each wrong answer. The weightage of written exam and interview will be in the ratio of 85:15. Separate skill test shall be conducted for the positions of Stenographers. The Syllabi for Technical Test for Positions at Sl. Nos. 1 to 5 will be available at url http://recruitment.nielit.gov.in
- Candidates who have qualified the written examination will be called for interview and the documents with regard to Educational Qualifications and Experience including Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable) will be verified by NIELIT representatives immediately before interview. All candidates invited for interview will be required to bring all original documents alongwith at least one self attested Photostat copy of each document.
- All correspondence will be made through e-mails only and as such the candidates must regularly check their e-mail ids.
8. Affix your recent colour passport size photograph (of size 3.5 cms x 4.5 cms) on a White Paper and then sign in a box of 3.5cmx 1.5c m below the photograph with Black Pen. Scan the above photo and signature and upload in the appropriate space provided (JPG format of size not more than 50 KB) in Application Form.
9. Take the printout of acknowledgement slip bearing a reference number that should be referred to in all future correspondence with NIELIT in connection with recruitment process.

11. Before uploading/submitting application form, the candidates should carefully ensure his/her eligibility for the post applied for. No relevant column of the application form should be left blank, otherwise application form is liable for rejection.
12. Incomplete / incorrect application form will be summarily rejected.
13. Withdrawal of candidature on account of non furnishing of any information will not confer any right to carry forward or retain the candidature for future recruitment.
14. Any request for change of address will not be entertained.
15. The offer of appointment is subject to verification of original certificates/testimonials at the time of interview and completeness of other formalities otherwise the candidature shall be rejected.
16. Degrees obtained through Open Universities/Distance Education mode that are approved by DEC and wherever necessary, by AICTE, are recognized for the purpose of employment under Central Government vide Gazetted Notification No.44 dated 1st march, 1995.
17. NIELIT will not be responsible in case of broken transaction during the online payment process. It is the sole responsibility of candidate to ensure that the payment has been made successfully.
18. The post of Asstt. Librarian may be filled either with consolidated remuneration of Rs.28,000/- or Rs. 21,000/- keeping in view of the performance of the candidates in written test/interview.
